This *two disc* release of the Linux Toolkit CD features the
sunsite.unc.edu archive, the tsx-11 archive, and the Slackware 2.0
distribution of Linux. Linux is a complete Unix-like system
containing everything you expect in a commericial package and more.
You can easily install the Slackware 2.0 Linux package directly from
the CDROM. Along with the binaries, you get tar files of sources if
you want to modify your version. Japanese language Extensions add
Japanese capability.
You'll find the latest GCC compilers, emacs, C libraries, and X
windows packages to upgrade your system. You get a large collection
of internet linux-announce newsgroup archives from 1993 and 1994 and
other documentation to guide you.
The sunsite directory contains networking code, applications,
utilities and games to let you get the most from your Linux system.
The ALPHA and BETA directories from tsx-11 allow you to look at and
test the latest in Linux development.
Packages included are Xfree86 2.0 and 2.1, tcl/tk, gcc 2.5.8, libc
4.4.21, emacs 18.58 and 19.22, sunsite's extensive collection of X
software, the postgres database, GNU alpha Ada compiler, lisp
compiler, Prolog, fortran, Eiffel, rexx, and more.
The sunsite X collection includes Xview libraries (including the
OpenLook window manager), the Andrew toolkit, some Motif binaries
(statically linked), editors and communication packages.
This collection will help you get the most out of your linux CDROM.
We released the Toolkit for Linux CDROM in August 1994.
